Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (02/09/2020) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). The leaves higher up the plant more closely resemble those of Fig-Leaved Goosefoot, but the latter's leaves are not fleshy like this and are instead mealy.

Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (02/09/2020) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). Close-up of the previous plant showing the fleshy leaves.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (02/09/2020) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). Red not Fig-Leaved Goosefoot because the latter has mealy leaves with three distinct lobes and the central lobe parallel-sided. Red Goosefoot leaves, as here, are fleshy and marginally glossy and the plant is not mealy.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (14/08/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). It can grow pretty tall, as here.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Young developing flowers. Note the absence of mealiness - if thee were Fat Hen buds, they'd be covewred in whitish crystal-like blobs. Also these are round - Fat Hen's have pentagonal symmetry.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (24/08/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Could be mistaken for Fig-Leaved Goosefoot, but that has mealy and not glossy leaves.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (24/08/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Makro shot, anthers. Very tiny flowers so very difficult to photograph on my phone - but you can just see the anthers atop their translucent stamens.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). A young plant, classic rather fleshy, shiny leaves.
Goosefoot Leaves versus Fat Hen (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). From top: young Red Goosefoot, Fat Hen and the bottom two are older Red Goosefoot (note how the Fat Hen leaf tapers abruptly into the stalk, but the others taper more gradually - another good differentiator. Also the Fat Hen leaf is mealy).
Goosefoot Leaves versus Fat Hen (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). From top: undersides of young Red Goosefoot, Fat Hen and the bottom two are older Red Goosefoot. Note the mealy nature of the Fat Hen leaf compared with the fleshy, shinier ones of Red Goosefoot.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). The shine is quite obvious in this photo.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (arena bank). The shine less obvious.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (14/08/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). The shine is more obvious in the sun as here. The leaves look a bit more "Fig-Leaved Goosefoot" but it isn't because those are mealy not shiny like this.

Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (23/06/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Baby leaves tend to be a lot fleshier than the adults (although the adults are still fleshy). Intermingled with a mass of Swine-Cress.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (23/06/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Baby leaf from previous specimen. The often have redder edges than when the plant matures.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Baby leaf from previous specimen. Also, the baby leaves are "allowed" to be slightly mealy on the underside, as here. But the mealiness will go when they mature.
Red Goosefoot (Oxybasis rubra / Chenopodium rubrum) (08/07/2021) Southbank Equestrian, Henfield (car park). Older leaf - Red Goosefoot leaves vary quite a bit in shape.
